Chicken Do Piaza

Chicken Do Piaza another great recipe compliments of Basabi

This dish also sounds absolutely delish! I have most of these ingrediants so I’ll have to invite some hungry folks over to give a review! Let me know how it turns out for you! Thanks again Basabi! Peg

Ingredients:

Whole Chicken cut into 8 to 10 pieces -1

 Onion chopped finely -1/4 cup

Onion ground into paste - 1/4 cup

 Ginger paste -1tsp

 Garlic paste -1 1/2 tsp

 Tomato paste -1tbsp

Whole Cardamom – 4 (open the top by pressing top over the counter top.)

Whole Cinnamon Stick – 2 inch piece (broken into 3 or 4 pieces)

 Whole Cloves – 4

 Bay Leaf -2 pcs.

Whole Cumin Seed - 1/2 tsp (place in palm of one hand and use the other palm to rub the cumin seeds together before adding to the wok)

Plain Yogurt – 3/4 cup

Turmeric Powder -1 tsp.

 Chilli Powder – to taste

Salt – to taste

 Oil – 3 tbsp.

Method: In a large bowl marinate the chicken with Yogurt, Chopped Onion, Ginger and garlic paste, salt, chiili powder and turmeric. Keep in the fridge for about 30 to 40 minutes. In a wok heat the oil. Add the bay leaves, cumin seeds, whole cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Wait till the cumin seeds begin to splutter and you get a mild aroma. Add the onion paste and stir for a couple of minutes. Add the tomato paste and continue to stir till the mixture is properly cooked. Add the marinated chicken and stir well. Let this cook covered stirring occasionally till the chicken is tender. Add water if you want a thinner gravy and let it cook for a few minutes.

Hey Peg, the quantities on the top few items seem to have shifted down – it does not read right. I hope readers get that and make adjustments!
